Frisselles test at Mont-Tremblant
Mont-Tremblant, Canada (19 May 05)-- Burt and Brian Frisselle got back to work on Thursday, taking part in the Rolex test day in advance of Saturday's 'Six Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant.' The duo completed a total of fifty-six laps in the RX.Com BMW-Doran, setting a best lap time of 1:32.602 seconds on the 2.65-mile natural terrain road course north of Montreal.
The brother pairing worked to improve the balance in their call all day, and while they made a lot of progress, they both still feel as though there is more speed to be found in the car and are looking forward to Friday's practice to keep improving.
"The front end has been too positive all day so the back of the car wants to step out in some of the faster corners, so there have been a couple of hairy moments out there!" said Burt. "We worked to get the rear end settled down, but I think there are a couple of important corners that we can improve on and get our times down to where they should be. The car is pretty consistent through the full run of the tires, so that's encouraging for the race, but we need to get ourselves a little bit quicker and be ready for qualifying tomorrow."
For younger brother Brian, this is his first experience on the scenic track in the RX.Com car, so he was glad to get a feel for the track and some of its high-speed corners.
"I am feeling pretty comfortable here-its certainly a whole different experience to be running the Daytona Prototype from anything I have run here before!" said Brian. "We made some progress today with the car, but we still want to improve our times and be ready for the race. This is the first six hour race of the season, so it will be important to not only get the car fast, but to also make sure that it will be consistent during our stints because having a car that's fast for just a lap or two won't be much help in the race. The Synergy guys always do a great job, though, and we'll go through the data tonight and just keep working at it."
The brothers will get two half-hour practice sessions on Friday in advance of a fifteen-minute qualifying session which is slated to get underway at 3:15 pm EST. Saturday's race will be broadcast LIVE on Speed Channel beginning at 11:00 AM EST.
