Frisselles brighten spirits in Columbus with Children's Hospital Visit
(Columbus, OH) 21 June 2006-- Burt and Brian Frisselle took time out to cheer up some young patients today at the Columbus Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The two young Rolex racers are in town in advance of this weekend's EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The Frisselle brothers are nearly as active in their charity pursuits as they are with their racing, as they work to raise the profile and awareness of their two selected charities, Camp Boggy Creek and the Lupus Foundation of America. The young brother driving duo has also made several visits to the Betty Jane France Speediatrics Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Wednesday's hospital visit seemed to brighten the spirits of Burt and Brian almost as it did for the young patients they met during the visit, as the two posed for pictures, signed memorabilia, and answered questions about what it's really like to be a race car driver for young patients making their way back to health at the impressive facility, which is the tenth busiest pediatric surgical hospital in America.
"As race car drivers, our focus is of course on winning on the track, but it's also very important to us to use our racing as a way to promote good causes," Brian said. "The staff was very welcoming, and we had fun talking to some of the kids and their parents and hopefully made just a little bit of difference for them."
Burt and Brian Frisselle will also be hosting a Mini-Golf tournament on June 27th at Camp Boggy Creek to raise funds for the camp in advance of the Brumos 250 race weekend at Daytona International Raceway.
