The Kodak EasyShare Team Ready to Race In EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Saturday
LEXINGTON, Ohio, Aug. 24 - The Bell Motorsports/Feeds the Need Racing team is looking for another podium finish in Saturday's EMCO Gears Classic at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course here.
Drivers Terry Borcheller of Gainesville, Ga. and Ralf Kelleners of Dusseldorf, Germany will be behind the wheel of the team's Kodak EasyShare DORAN JE4 Pontiac No. 54 for the two-hour-and-45-minute, 250-mile, 111-lap race, the tenth of 14 Rolex series races slated for the 2005 season.
Mid-Ohio's 2.258-mile road course has been good to the team in the past. It won this event in 2003 with Borcheller and car owner/driver Forest Barber of Fort Worth driving. It also won the Daytona Prototype team championship and Borcheller won the DP drivers' championship that year. The Kodak car was also victorious at the 2004 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
Twenty-two Daytona Prototypes and 25 GT cars are entered in Saturday's race for a total of 47 cars.
The action starts with a test day on Thursday. The Kodak car's first practice session is at 11 a.m. Friday. Another practice period follows at 2:10 p.m. before qualifying is held at 4:55 p.m.
There's a warm-up Saturday morning at 10:25 a.m. and autograph session at noon. The race is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. that day. In a change of routine, the Grand-Am Cup cars and the support series will be the stars on Sunday.
The Rolex series race will be broadcast on SPEED on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, airing at noon ET that day.
