Michael Shank Racing Ready to Race at Lime Rock Park

â^a¨Lakeville, Conn. (31 May 2010)-Michael Shank Racing will start Monday's Memorial Day Classic from eighth and twelfth on the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Memorial Day Classic grid as the team prepares for round five of the 2010 championship.

Michael Shank Racing visited the 1.5-mile circuit for a pre-event test in April and posted impressive times in a debut visit to the track. But the conditions have changed significantly as the team looks to tune the two-car Daytona Prototype entry for the hot and slippery track conditions on Memorial Day Monday.

Excellent pre-race preparation and practice saw the team able to effect significant changes to the cars between sessions, but the pursuit of the ideal set up continues for both cars following the qualifying session as the team works through an intense one-day schedule.

"The car is better, and I'm able to trust it a lot more now than I was earlier," said Pew. "We improved the gearing as well so that was the right direction to move in, and hopefully we can be even quicker in the race. It's going to be a busy day!"

"The car is balanced, but we just don't have the grip we need here," said Frisselle. "We were quick in the test but the track is much warmer to day so we are just playing catch-up with the conditions. We just have to have a clean race and be good in traffic. The car is strong under braking so that could be important for us with the GT cars on this small track."
