Denver, N.C. . Veteran sports car ace Jan Lammers will team with Andy Wallace and Butch Leitzinger in the Howard-Boss Motorsports #4 BOSS Snowplow Pontiac Crawford at Miller Motorsports Park on September 2nd. The brand new 4.5-mile, 24-turn Salt Lake City, Utah circuit will host the Discount Tire Sun Chaser, a nine-hour event to conclude the 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car season.

Lammers will be making his second start of the 2006 Rolex Series season for Howard-Boss Motorsports. The Belgium native teamed with Rusty Wallace, Danica Patrick, and Allan McNish in the #2 Callaway Golf Pontiac Crawford for the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona. Lammers led two laps during his initial stint in the potent Pontiac Crawford. Unfortunately, mechanical issues sidelined the entry shortly past the midpoint of the event.

The veteran Lammers has competed in ten races for Howard-Boss Motorsports since their inception in 2004. He teamed with Wallace and Milka Duno to win the 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant in May, 2005, and scored a podium finish in the '05 Rolex 24 At Daytona teaming with Wallace and NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart. His total lists four top-five and seven top-ten finishes for Howard-Boss Motorsports. However, the relationship between Lammers, Max, and Jan Crawford extends back many years. Lammers teamed with Tony Stewart and Johnny Mowlem to drive the Crawford SSC2K in the 2002 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

"Obviously, I'm always delighted when the opportunity occurs to drive for the Howard-Boss Motorsports team," Lammers stated. "Genuine passion is the magic word here. Winning is what is necessary for this team, they can take losing only temporarily. Ultimately, they will always come out on top, simply because that is what they (Howard-Boss Motorsports) are about. To be part of this environment is pure joy because everybody around you is focused and expects the best of you and themselves. This is great for a driver."

Longtime friend and co-driver Andy Wallace was elated when Lammers agreed to join Howard-Boss Motorsports at Miller Motorsports Park.

"Obviously, I'm thrilled than Jan (Lammers) will be joining Butch (Leitzinger) and I for Utah," Wallace added. "He's a very quick driver and a great teammate. From my experience at Miller Motorsports Park at the recent ALMS event, I'd rate the track fantastic. Nine hours around there will be a real challenge. It's not an easy track to learn and is actually quite technical. There are a number of fast corners where our BOSS Snowplow Pontiac Crawford should excel."

"Jan Lammers is the consummate professional," Rick Howard, President of Howard Motorsports, LLC commented. "Our entire organization has the highest regard for Jan. He is excellent on technical tracks, which will fit the Miller Motorsports Park facility. His ability to adapt to the car and track conditions with minimal laps is amazing. He comes up to speed so quickly. Plus, Jan Lammers is an absolute joy to be around. Howard-Boss Motorsports is exceedingly joyous that Jan will be driving with Andy and Butch in Utah."
