Andy Lally and R.J. Valentine drove their TRG Porsche to victory Saturday in the Rolex Sports Car Series GT class race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The decisive moment in the race came on Lap 90 of the 93-lap race, when the Banner Racing Pontiac GXP.R of race leader Paul Edwards had to stop for fuel under the race's last caution period. Edwards' stop handed the lead and the win to Lally, who coasted to the finish line behind the safety car.

It was the first win of the season for Lally and Valentine, who started 17th in the race. Their previous best finish was a second at Homestead Miami Speedway.

"It is a huge win," said Lally. "One really cool thing is that this is my
first win here. I've had two second-place finishes in the Rolex Series and
a third in Barber Dodge a long, long time ago. It was wonderful to come
through. It was one of those things where everything just went right."

A second TRG Porsche, driven by newcomers Dan DiLeo and Ross Smith, finished second, followed by Dirk Werner and Bryce Miller in the Farnbacher Loles Porsche.

Edwards and teammate Kelly Collins ended up fourth, despite leading the most laps.

The race featured nine lead changes by nine different drivers and four cautions for a 15 laps.
