Rock Hill, South Carolina-3-25-2005 Horizon Motorsports is pleased to announce that it has signed Jeremy Treadway, Ticonderoga, New York, to fill in for Charles Espenlaub for the next round of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series being held at the California Speedway at Fontana, California, April 3, 2005.
Treadway is well known for his formula ford driving championship and his successful exploits in Busch North series. Treadway is new to the Grand American Rolex series but brings seasoned skills to the Horizon effort that has been demonstrated in his driving the heavier and more powerful Busch North style of cars. He is well known in the Lime Rock and Watkins Glen arenas as being the guy to beat.
Treadway said " I am thrilled and proud that Horizon Motorsports has recognized my development as a winning driver and I am looking forward to this new challenge. The chance to drive in the Rolex Series has long been a dream of mine and my goal is victory lane for Horizon Motorsports."
Treadway will drive with Kris Szekeres, Hartland, Michigan. Szekeres and Treadway are old friends on the track and off. Szekeres finished second to Treadway in the hard fought formula ford national championship in 2003.
Szekeres continues to show the way having driven a super race at Homestead with his great effort falling short due to an oil pump belt failure. Szekeres has demonstrated his quick to learn ability as well as his prowess to steadily take the car to the front.
Horizon Motorsports is excited about having both Szekeres and Treadway driving together. Jim Harrell, managing partner of Horizon Motorsports said " these are two really good youngsters that are both very skilled, compliment each other and are friends. A recipe for success."
The California Speedway 400, at Fontana, California, will be televised at 4pm Sunday April 3, 2005 on SpeedChannel.
