Kodak EasyShare Team is Fourth in Practice Saturday at Homestead
HOMESTEAD, Fla., Sept. 18 - Bell Motorsports' Kodak EasyShare DORAN JE4 Pontiac was fourth in both practice sessions Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway in preparation for tomorrow's Miami 250 Rolex series race.
The Miami-based team, the defending Daytona Prototype champions, recorded the fourth-fastest lap in the first practice session with a 1:17.457 for an average speed of 106.898 mph. Lead driver Terry Borcheller, the defending Daytona Prototype driver champion, reeled off a 1:16.818 (107.787 mph) late in the afternoon session for the fourth-fastest lap in that practice period too.
The fastest lap of the day was the 1:15.535 (109.618 mph) circuit set by the SunTrust Riley Pontiac #10 in the morning session.
Christian Fittipaldi of Key Biscayne, Fla. will share the Kodak EasyShare DORAN JE4 Pontiac #54 with Borcheller in tomorrow's race, which will be broadcast live on SPEED at 11 a.m. Eastern time.
Car owner Forest Barber of Fort Worth is on hand here too. He doesn't plan to compete in tomorrow's race, although he may drive in a Hoosier tire test here at Homestead on Monday.
Borcheller will start tomorrow's two-hour-and-45-minute race and then Fittipaldi will take over. The grid was established by team points, so the Kodak EasyShare car will start sixth.
Most of the teams were forced to work hard on their set-ups Saturday due to a lack of grip caused by a variety of factors, including high heat and humidity.

Borcheller and Barber finished sixth in the Homestead race held here Feb. 28.
Driver quotes follow:
TERRY BORCHELLER: "We're in better shape now than we were the last time we were here! My fast lap was a clean lap; it was as fast as I could go. We're actually where I thought we'd be; we're about a second and a half off the top time.
"Everybody forgets that we're carrying 90 pounds of extra weight. We have the first DORAN JE4 that ever raced, and our chassis is heavier than the other ones.
"Part of the problem everybody is having here is that we're using 480 compound tires only here instead of the 370 compounds we've run in the past. That coupled with the heat and the three hurricanes that they've had here, there is no rubber down.
"A lot of teams are in the same boat."
CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI: "All in all, it's difficult to say where we really are running because the track is really slick, but it is slick for everyone.
"We made progress from this morning. We are not 100 percent happy, but we're happier than we were this morning. If we have no trouble in the race tomorrow I think we have a very good chance to finish in the top three."
