The Glenn Yee Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racing machine took the sixth fastest speed in qualifying for the SGS class today at the Grand American Grand Prix of Miami at Miami-Homestead Speedway in Homestead, Fla. with Geoff Escalette behind the wheel.

Escalette and co-driver Hugh Plumb will start the race tomorrow from sixth position on the SGS grid after qualifying the No. 63 Porsche at 1:24.325 around the 2.3-mile course.

Geoff Escalette, No. 63 Glenn Yee Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

"The car felt great and I'm getting more and more comfortable with the track with this being the second day out. The Hoosier tires felt great; I drove a different line through the banking which made a difference in my lap time. I think we have a good chance tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. The crew will work on race set up tonight and I hope the weather keeps up because after Daytona I think we've all seen enough of driving in the rain for a while."

Glenn Yee, team owner of Glenn Yee Motorsports

"We're happy with how the team qualified, it's a tight battle out there with the SGS cars. It's been a good two days for us so far, we've had no problems to speak of. This Porsche just gets out there and goes. The team has done a tremendous job prepping the car and getting everything race ready. I think we're in a good position for the race tomorrow."
