Rusty Wallace to Co-Drive No. 2 Callaway Golf Pontiac Crawford with Danica Patrick, Allan McNish and Jan Lammers in Rolex 24 At Daytona

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 18, 2005) -- Though NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace "retired" at the end of the 2005 season, he hasn't hung up his helmet just yet. Wallace, along with IRL Indy Car Series racing sensation Danica Patrick and sports car drivers Allan McNish and Jan Lammers will attempt the 44th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona starting on January 28.

"I've never run a race like this," Wallace said." I've told everybody I'm retired full time. I've been 25 years in NASCAR Cup racing and 33 years of racing totally. I'm done now, but I've told everybody going in that the one race that I've always wanted to run was the 24 Hours of Daytona. It was the race that the likes of Andretti and Foyt and the late Dale (Earnhardt) Sr. ran, and it's just a race I'd like to run."

The foursome will be piloting the No. 2 Callaway Golf Pontiac Crawford for Howard-Boss Motorsports, a Denver, N.C. based company.

"Everyone at Howard-Boss Motorsports is exceedingly excited about our driver lineup in the No. 2 Pontiac Crawford for the Rolex 24," commented team owner Rick Howard. "The Rolex 24 At Daytona is the Super Bowl for the Grand American Rolex Series, and we certainly have a superb, multi-talented driver roster. This year, the Rolex 24 At Daytona looks to be the most competitive in the series history, and we're proud to have such a unique blend of drivers representing various disciplines of motorsports."

The team was assembled by Howard-Boss Motorsports and Rusty Wallace, Inc. and has flourished due to the support of Callaway Golf. Callaway has an extensive relationship with Wallace, stemming from Wallace's great passion for the game of golf.

"The guys at Callaway have been extremely generous and willing to help get this idea going," Wallace said. "George Fellows (President CEO and Director), Bob Penicka (SEVP, COO of Equipment, President of The Top-Flite Golf Company), Drew Isaacman (VP, Top-Flite & Ben Hogan Brand Management), Dan Bracken (Director, Merchandising & Creative Services) and Larry Dorman (SVP, Global Press and Public Relations), all the people there have been great and without their support and endorsement this would not have been possible. We're running the Rolex 24 for sure. I think we're going to have a good, winning team, and we feel like we're organized."

Through this sponsorship, Callaway is expanding their already prominent relationship with Wallace that started back in 2003. Supplying personal service, as well as support for Wallace's No. 64 Top-Flite Dodge NASCAR Busch Series entry.

"We are thrilled to be associated with a race car driving legend like Rusty and we're really looking forward to seeing him and his team running in the Rolex 24 in the No. 2 Callaway Golf Pontiac Crawford," Fellows said. "With Rusty, Danica Patrick, Allan McNish and Jan Lammers on the Callaway team, we feel like we have a great chance in the race."

The green flag is scheduled to wave Saturday, January 28 at 12:00 noon, EST, and will conclude on Sunday, January 29, 24 hours later. The race will be televised on SPEED Channel in three segments. Part 1 will air on Saturday, January 28 beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET; Part 2 will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST on the same day; and Part 3 can be seen beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET.
