Crash damage sets Frisselles back

(Daytona Beach, FL) 29 June 2006-- Burt and Brian Frisselle will be unable to participate in this Thursday's Brumos 250 after a late-race accident at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last weekend caused significant damage to the No. 8 Porsche-powered Synergy Racing GlycoMax Doran.

Burt was able to emerge safely from the GlycoMax car after the accident, which was triggered by contact from behind as Burt was navigating through GT traffic after the car had run strongly in the top four, but the short turn-around time between events meant that the car was unable to be repaired in time. The Ganassi entry was also damaged in the accident, but the large team had a spare car to enter in time for the Daytona event.

"I hate to not be racing this weekend," said a disappointed Burt. "This is the first time I'll be watching instead of racing a prototype since 2003. It's a shame because we lose out on our Hoosier Pacesetter status as well, so it is really costly for the team. But, we plan on being back and ready to go for Barber at the end of July."

Despite not racing in the Daytona event, Burt and Brian still took the time to visit the Daytona market as they hosted the Frisselle Invitational Min-Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Camp Boggy Creek to raise awareness and funds for the amazing facility in Eustis, Florida.
