DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (June 20, 2003) -- Geoffrey Bodine's racing career will come full circle at Daytona International Speedway when he races in the Paul Revere 250 Rolex Sports Car Series race on Thursday, July 3.

Bodine, who first raced at Daytona 29 years ago on the road course, will share the driving duties on the No. 8 G&W Motorsports BMW Picchio Daytona Prototype with Darren Law.

In the 1974 Permatex 200, Bodine drove a modified Vega to a fifth-place finish on the DIS road course. The Chemung, N.Y., native raced in the modified race for four years before making his first Daytona 500 start in 1979.

He has won six races at the historic track, including the 1986 Daytona 500.

"I'm really looking forward to running the Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International Speedway," Bodine said. "When I get back to Daytona, just give me a few laps in the car on the road course and I'll be ready to go."

Bodine will be part of the driving team on the G&W Motorsports BMW Picchio Daytona Prototype for this weekend's Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International and hopes to get accustomed to the sleek and stylish Daytona Prototype.

"Racing a rear-engine car on a road course is a new situation for me, because it's a lot different than anything I've done before," Bodine said. "Fortunately, I'll have the opportunity to race the car at Watkins Glen International in the Sahlen's Six Hours.

This year's Paul Revere 250 will go green following the completion of Kraft/Nabisco Qualifying for the Pepsi 400 on Thursday, July 3.

Tickets for Kraft/Nabisco Qualifying Night and the Paul Revere 250 are available online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP.
