DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 5, 2005) - The buzz is coming to an end and the wait to experience Daytona's unique and exciting FanZone is finally here.

After seven months of moving dirt, digging holes and building state-of-the-art structures, the dust has settled and construction is all but complete as Daytona International Speedway will unveil its unique, exciting, multi-million dollar FanZone located in the infield of the historic Speedway Feb. 3 with a Grand Opening Tunnel Ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

The World Center of Racing will offer amenities that provide the world's most incredible, up-close-and-personal fan experience in motorsports. Interactive displays, a tribute area to the legends of the Speedway, roof-top spectator areas, a new Gatorade Victory Lane and a new signature infield structure, the Daytona 500 Club building all await the 2005 Speedweeks guests.

The history and tradition of the Rolex 24 At Daytona returns to historic Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 5-6, but the 2005 edition of the round-the-clock durability marathon will be accompanied by a bevy of other things to do.

Last season, a record number of Daytona Prototypes lead a strong field made up of today's biggest manufacturers, including Porsche, Ford, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Lexus, BMW and many more. This year, in addition to the cars, classic movies, carnival rides, a wine and cheese party and a 5K / fun run will highlight the grand opening of FanZone.

Following is a list of activities surrounding the only 24-hour race on the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Calendar:
