SunTrust Racing Leads Rolex 24 of Daytona at 12-Hour

Daytona, Florida (February 6, 2005) - The SunTrust Racing continues to lead the Rolex 24 at Daytona, although they have been jockeying positions in the top five most of the evening.

It has been racing business as usual for the No. 10 SunTrust, as they have experienced a problem-free effort in the first 12 hours of the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic. The drivers, Max Angelelli, Wayne Taylor and Emmanuel Collard, have been performing double stints and numerous cautions have helped their efforts, especially with saving tires. At the 12-hour mark, the SunTrust team has led 105 laps of the total 353 laps.

Driver Quotes: Max Angelelli - "We stayed with the old tires all the way. It was really, really difficult to try to drive and I really had to fight for the lead. I get again the lead and then we just drive the car for the last few hours and see where we are later. Going daylight to dark was no problem."

Wayne Taylor- "I had a few cautions while I was in the car. I was able to advance a few positions under racing conditions, but we were able to preserve the tires more with the yellows. You really have to watch for traffic, especially the slower cars. They don't always see you."

Emmanuel Collard- "The stint was really bad behind the traffic. There are some stupid drivers on the track. I can't believe it. They race like if it was a one-hour race. I thought the last one (stint), I was alone most of the time and made up for it."
