ALEX JOB RACING PORSCHE CRAWFORD BREAKS AXLE, RELINQUISHES LEAD; BRUMOS PORSCHE FABCAR NOW SECOND AS ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA COMPLETES 19 HOURS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January 29 - The #23 Alex Job Racing/Emory Motorsports Shred-it XM Satellite Radio Porsche Crawford, with drivers Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockefeller, and Patrick Long, took the lead in the 17th hour and built a three-lap cushion until a broken right rear axle put the car into the pits, where it lost eight laps to the field.

With 19 hours completed, the standings now show the Alex Job Porsche Crawford in fifth place, five laps behind the leader.

"We made up 12 laps on the field - from nine laps behind after our CV boot replacement to three laps ahead - and now we will have to do it again. These drivers and crew members have the skill and the heart to do the job; with a little luck, we can still win this race," said Alex Job, whose teams have won their class at Daytona over the years, but never won an overall victory.

Meanwhile, the #58 Brumos Racing Red Bull Porsche Fabcar, with Darren Law, Sascha Maassen, and David Donohue at the controls, has moved up to second position overall, two laps behind the leader. The team #59 Porsche Fabcar, with Hurley Haywood, J.C, France, Ted Christopher and Joao Barbosa, with its multitude of problems, is still running, but shows in 34th place at the 19-hour mark.

Ian Baas leads the GT class in the #36 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, sharing the car with Randy Pobst, Michael Levitas and Spencer Pumpelly. Running second in GT, one lap behind the class leader, is the Lally/Valentine/Bunting/O'Connell Pontiac GTO.R. Dirk Werner rounded out the GT top three in the # 82 Farnbacher Loles Porsche 911 GT3 Cup he is sharing with Philipp Peter, Dieter Quester and Luca Riccitelli.

The SPEED TV coverage for the race resumes at 8:00 AM EST Sunday morning, and will go live to the finish at noon EST.
