ALEX JOB RACING PORSCHE CRAWFORD CLOSES IN ON ROLEX 24 LEAD AT THE HALFWAY MARK; LUHR/ROCKENFELLER/LONG HAVE MADE UP NINE LAPS OF THE TRACK.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - January 28 - The #23 Alex Job Racing/Emory Motorsports Shred-it XM Satellite Radio Porsche Crawford, with drivers Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockefeller, and Patrick Long setting fast race laps all evening, have come back from 39th place and nine laps down to fourth place one lap down at the halfway point - 12 hours - of the Rolex 24.
Team owner Alex Job has reported that the replacement CV boots that put the car behind the wall early in the race have held up just fine, and he is optimistic that the car will continue to perform at top speed.
The #58 Brumos Racing Red Bull Porsche Fabcar continues to run in the top ten, currently in sixth place. The team #59 Porsche Fabcar has fallen far back as J.C. France had an off-road excursion, chewing up the front-end of the car.
The #82 Farnbacher Loles Red Bull Porsche 911 GT3 Cup fell out of first place in GT during a brake pad change pit stop when they had trouble with the right front pads, and then the #36 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car lost the lead to the factory Pontiac in the 12th hour. At the end of 12 hours, the Pontiac leads the Porsche by eight seconds.
