THE DAYTONA 24H SETS THE BEGINNING OF MATTEO BOBBI'S SECOND SEASON IN THE GRAND-AM

24/01/2008 - Matteo Bobbi comes back to racing in USA. The Daytona 24h qualifying scheduled for today will set the beginning of a new adventure of the Italian driver that, after the 2005 experience, decided to accept the offer of the Cheever Racing Team for the 2008 Grand-Am championship.

Bobbi will share the drive of the number 16 Coyote-Pontiac sponsored by Crown Royal with the Spaniard Antonio Garcia. In long races Stephane Ortelli and Fabio Babini will complete the team mates line up.

The 24 hours of Daytona will begin next Saturday at 19 (Italian Time GMT +1). The live-timing and live broadcast services will be available at the www.grand-am.com website while the new version of Matteo Bobbi's website, available from today on at www.matteobobbi.com, will offer racing updates every six hours.

Matteo Bobbi:
"I am really excited: the 24 hours of Daytona is the most important race of the season, often full of twists. Our car is completely new and our main target is to finish the race. Then, in the two months that will take us to the second race of the season, we will focus on the car development.

The season is very long. Fifteen races will keep us busy till the end of September. The first rounds will probably be the most difficult for us but we expect a gradual improvement in the car that as time goes by should make us more and more competitive."
