Dark Dog Driver Justin Bell sets fastest lap during Rolex 24 at Daytona qualifying.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.-Dark Dog Energy Drink driver Justin Bell set the quickest time during qualifying for the 41st annual Rolex 24 of Daytona in the Derhaag Motorsports Corvette, setting a fast lap time of 1:49.394.

The 34-year-old Bell has an impressive driving history that includes the 1997 FIA GT2 World Championship and a win in the GT2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans just one year later. In 2000, Bell earned second overall at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

In the 2002 season, Bell finished 12th in the Trans-Am series with four top-five and two top-ten finishes in only eight starts.

Bell is a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., which is near the US headquarters of Dark Dog Energy Drink in Hollywood, Fla.

The #40 Derhaag Motorsports Corvette will start the Rolex 24 at Daytona from the seventh spot on the grid. Race rules state that the Daytona Prototype class has to grid at the head of the field, so Bell's qualifying time puts the Corvette in front of the GTS, GT and SRPII class cars.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona gets the green flag on Saturday, February 1, at 1:00 pm. SPEED Channel will provide live television coverage from 12:30 - 9:00 pm ET on Saturday, and 6:00 am - 1:30 pm ET on Sunday. Live timing and scoring can be found on Grand American Road Racing's website at www.GrandAmerican.com.
