When they started the 2012 season in Daytona, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb were amongst the top contenders to win the championship. They had a very good first seven races where their worst result was an 8th place finish. Several misfortunes in the last two races at Indianapolis and Laguna Seca stopped Carter and Plumb's effort to finish on the podium of the championship. For this final round of the season, the GS and the ST classes will be split and will each have their own race which should help with traffic and passing issues.

Before Lime Rock the SceneTap B+ Foundation Fall-Line team is ranked 5th in the team point standings and Al Carter is 5th in the driver point standings. There is still a chance for the #45 Fall-Line team to gain one spot and finish in the top four of the championship.

"Heading into the final race of the 2012 season, I could not be more appreciative of all the things going on around this team," said Carter. "The Fall-Line crew, our engineers, the fellow team drivers, and our B+ and Scene-Tap sponsors, have all made for a memorable Continental Tire season. Intense door-to-door battles have been the norm, but our #45 with Hugh and me has been a podium threat in every race this year. We both like challenging the Lime Rock layout and I'd like to close out this season strong, I led most of the early part of this race last year, and expect our Fall-Line prepared BMW to be stout again."

Lime Rock is almost the home track for Al Carter and Hugh Plumb. The two drivers live only 230 miles from Lakeville. Hugh Plumb likes the track and was successful there in the past and Carter is excited about a new chance to score another podium finish this season.

"Excited to be back at Lime Rock, one of my favorite venues on the schedule," announced Plumb. "Al Carter is always fast here. With a little luck that we now deserve, we could put the #45 SceneTap B+ Foundation BMW back in the top four in the point standings."

Both drivers have nothing to lose in this final round at Lime Rock and they are excited about their chances to finally have the break they deserve and win that first race together. They both want to demonstrate that their Fall-Line team is one of the best in the paddock and position themselves as a championship contender for 2013.

Lime Rock Park is one of the shortest road courses in the nation but it is one of the most popular and respected by all the best endurance racers. The Lime Rock racetrack always creates great exciting racing and unexpected finishes.

Before this final race of 2012, both drivers will visit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday, September 27. This event is part of the "2012 B+ Foundation Fighting Childhood Cancer Tour" that took Carter and Plumb to six major children's hospitals this year to deliver a positive message and meet children battling cancer.
