JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 1, 2002) -- Bob Snodgrass, President of Brumos Porsche announced today that agreements have been reached between Brumos Racing, Alex Job Racing and Michael Colucci to form a Porsche "Superteam" for the 2003 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.
Alex Job will combine his talent and resources with the Brumos organization to manage one of the two Porsche-FABCARs entered by Brumos in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. "Alex Job Racing brings to the team his vast experience with the basic components we will be using on our Daytona Prototypes," said Snodgrass. "When we decided to run the Daytona Prototypes our only consideration for power was Porsche as our participation in the six prior 24 Hour victories in the race were all Porsche powered vehicles. Alex Job Racing is the clear choice for us to act as a prime resource for Daytona."
Brumos' longtime Team Manager, Jim Bailie, will be car chief on the #59 FABCAR. Job's Jeff Gamroth on the #58 entry.
Michael Colucci re-joins Brumos after a successful career managing numerous professional efforts in the United States and Europe. "Michael was Peter Gregg's team manager in the late 1970's and car chief on our Super Car Championship effort with Hans Stuck in 1993. He is a proven winner," said Snodgrass.
Colucci will be car chief for the David Donohue/Mike Borkowski car for the balance of the season. He will join the entire Brumos Racing/Alex Job Racing team at Daytona to thoroughly acquaint himself with the new car. In addition to his role with Brumos Racing, Colucci will continue to operate his successful race preparation business in Jupiter, Fla.
The Brumos Racing/Alex Job Racing team will enter the Rolex 24 with the driver line-up of J.C. France, Hurley Haywood, Scott Goodyear and Scott Sharp in the #59 car. David Donohue, Mike Borkowski, Chris Bye and Wayne Jackson will share the driving duties in the sister #58 Porsche-FABCAR. Both cars will contest the entire 2003 Rolex Series season. Haywood will be seeking his record sixth win in the Rolex 24.
