DALLAS -- GAINSCO/Blackhawk Racing will take on a new name and a new look for the 2007 Rolex Sports Car Series season, as last year's breakthrough Daytona Prototype team is being renamed GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing.

Team owner Bob Stallings said the new moniker would more clearly link the team's on-track successes with his off-track business prowess.

"As I'm out in the marketplace looking for potential partners for our team, I found that many of them were spending too much time figuring out who or what Blackhawk was," Stallings said. "Now people who know me, or know of me, can instantly associate my name with my team -- it just makes sense."

Stallings said he felt the new name was also appropriate in that it clearly delineated his role within the organization -- as a dynamic, hands-on team owner/driver involved in every facet of his team's on-track performance. He serves as the face of the team for SPEED Channel's broadcast coverage and is actively involved in team management and race strategy.

"The new name makes it clear to everyone that I'm proud of my team and its successes. I am committed, long-term, to making Bob Stallings Racing a championship-winning team in the Rolex Sports Car Series," Stallings said.

GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing will announce its complete lineup for the 2007 Rolex Sports Car Series season in the coming months.
