TARWORKS QUARTET DRIVER HAS AMBITIONS FOR BARBER!
Starworks Motorsport Welcomes New Driver, Kasper Andersen.
Starworks Motorsport has momentum on its side for this week's Porsche 250, round 3 of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama. Starworks Motorsport has entered two Dinan-BMW Rileys in the Alabama event. Car #7 will be driven by Bill Lester and Kasper Andersen and car #8 by Ryan Dalziel and Mike Forest.
In their first event with two cars, Starworks Motorsport scored a top-five finish at Homestead with Ryan Dalziel and Mike Forest, co-drivers of the #8 Corsa Car Care Starworks Motorsport Dinan-BMW Riley Daytona Prototype. Dalziel scored precious points at Homestead and is now ranked third in the 2010 Rolex Series point standings and is looking forward to round 3 at Barber.
"Barber is a lot of fun and I can't wait to get started at Barber" announced Ryan Dalziel. "Starworks has so much momentum going into round 3 after our strong race at Homestead. It gives a driver such a huge confidence boost going into any race with the knowledge that his car will be fast. I know we will be contenders for victory and I relish the challenges that Barber's awesome venue will give us. I actually tested there in 2005 in a Lola Champ Car and every time I think about Barber it reminds me of that day. It was such a crazy place to test and I think I still hold the lap record there in the Lola. But I do love the venue and I am looking forward to getting the Starworks Motorsport Dinan-BMW Riley in victory lane" continued Dalziel. Jim Trueman Award recipient at Homestead, Mike Forest, is also ready to start the Barber weekend in Alabama. "I think the upcoming race at Barber Motorsports Park will be a good race for Starworks Motorsport" announced Mike Forest. "We will be building on the success we had at Homestead and looking to finish on the podium. It's a demanding track; one where if the car is bad it is going to be a long day but if you can start the race with a car you are comfortable with then it can be very enjoyable. Given the progress we made at Homestead I believe we will be in good shape and the car will be very strong" added Forest.
The #7 Flex-Box Starworks Motorsport Dinan-BMW Riley will be driven by Bill Lester and a new arrival in the Starworks team, Danish driver Kasper Andersen.
Kasper Andersen has great expectations for his first race with Starworks Motorsport. "My aim for Barber is to do a solid job and build a good relationship with Bill Lester and the rest of the crew since it is very important we work well together in order to achieve success" declared Kasper. "I have never been to Barber before, but I've done quit a few laps on IRacing.com and it seems like a very challenging track. It reminds me of a track here in Denmark which I had won 2-3 times on before, I hope that's a good sign" added Andersen.
Bill Lester is excited about returning to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Porsche 250. "The simple fact is that anytime I'm going to the race track, I'm looking forward to it" announced Bill. "What makes this race truly exciting for me is that my wife and kids will be in attendance - being that Barber is a short hop from our home in Atlanta. It's been quite a while since they've seen me race so I'm expecting an especially strong performance from both myself and the team. Speaking of the team, allow me to welcome my new co-driver, Kasper Andersen. He tested with us at Daytona earlier this year and proved that he's very talented. We're all expecting him to fit right in and deliver solid results. This factor is key, since to date, the #7 car has not had the finishes it deserves so we're all very determined to turn that situation around this weekend" added Lester.
