BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 18 - The first DORAN JE4 Daytona Prototype to see competition, the Bell Motorsports DORAN JE4 Chevrolet No. 54, won its first race Sunday when Terry Borcheller and Forest Barber were victorious in the inaugural Barber 250 at The Park Grand Am Rolex Series race at the brand-new Barber Motorsports Park here.

It was an exciting finish, as Borcheller took the lead on the last lap after two late-race cautions tightened up the field.

"It seems like it's been a long time coming, but it's only our fourth race in the car," Borcheller said.

Borcheller started second and led the first half-hour of the two-hour, 45-minute race. Barber took over after 45 minutes, spinning once, and then Borcheller drove the final stint. The track was wet and Borcheller spun once too, but he rebounded to take the lead just four turns from the checkered.

He also set the fastest lap of the race, which was almost two seconds quicker than the rest of the field.

Both Borcheller and Barber were impressed with the performance of the DORAN JE4 in the rainy and wet conditions throughout the race weekend.

The Barber 250 at The Park will be aired on SPEED Channel this coming Saturday, May 24 at 1 p.m. ET.

The Rolex Sports Car Series will return to action at California Speedway on June 6-8 in the Grand American 400.
