Law and Donohue to Debut Riley Chassis for Brumos Porsche at Barber Rolex Event
Porsche endurance racer Darren Law and teammate David Donohue will be debuting a new Riley chassis for their #58 Red Bull sponsored Brumos Porsche Daytona Prototype at the upcoming Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series event at Barber Motorsports Park. The 109-lap 250-mile event is scheduled to take the green flag on Sunday, April 30th.
Both Law and Donohue are cautiously optimistic following a successful shakedown of the car, and are eager to see what the new chassis has to offer the team for the Barber event and the remainder of the season.
"The Riley is very different than what David and I have been used to for the past three years together," remarked Darren. "From the instant we left pit lane we could feel a difference. We tested on Monday at Mid Ohio and it went really well. It was fast right out of the trailer and we had no reliability issues all day. It took us both several laps to figure out the different driving technique. I'm hoping that we can show well at Barber. We have a lot to learn from what the car really wants from the driving standpoint, as well as the team and engineers have a lot to sort out. We have only had one day with the car and there are still a lot of things to do to get prepared for the weekend, but I feel confident we will be competitive. It is tough to win in this series and we will all be happy if we are able to fight with the front guys this weekend."
Law and Donohue have had strong finishes at Barber in the past, with a 7th place overall in 2004 and a 6th place finish in 2005,and both are hoping to keep the streak of strong results at the immaculately prepared 2.3 mile natural terrain roadcourse going. Law and Donohue will be up against twenty-four other Daytona Prototype entries for this year's Barber race.
