British GT driver Tim Lawrence is aiming to compete in the 2004 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in February 2004.

After making his debut in US racing at the famed Florida venue at last weekend's Grand Am finale, the 33 year old Leicestershire driver was further enthused about driving in the 24 hours after gaining a taste of the circuit's awesome 31 degree banked corners.

He commented "I was a little apprehensive about driving there at first, but once you overcome the severity of the banking you just get on with it. The circuit is truly great. The infiield twisty sections were a bit greasy for my Marcus Motorsports Bluehorses.co.uk BMW M3 GT-R throughout the weekend but it didn't deter me from wanting to return here".

Regards the Rolex 24 hours he added "I am pulling out all the stops to make the race. I think the 24 hours is a great way to start a racing season, and the race has a certain panache about it. I have fulfilled a dream to drive there, and my next dream would be to do the 24 hours. I am working hard to make that happen".

Tim made his debut on board Richmond Virginia based Marcus Motorsports' BMW M3GT-R sharing with team regulars Brian Cunningham and Hugh Plumb. The car ran wel lduring the race but collected some debris from a damaged Porsche GT3, which punctured the BMW's radiator, ending the trio's race prematurely.
