Kodak EasyShare Team to Miss the Glen

FORT WORTH, Sept. 20 - Feeds the Need Racing's Forest Barber and Bell Motorsports' Jim Bell jointly said today that they have withdrawn the Kodak EasyShare DORAN JE4 Pontiac No. 54 from this weekend's Crown Royal 250 Rolex series race at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, N.Y. due to budget constraints.

Barber said the team's participation in the last two Rolex series races this year (Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va. on Oct. 7-9 and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico on Nov. 5) has not been determined yet.

"As one of the original Daytona Prototype teams that has contested every race since the class's inception, it is very disappointing for the Feeds the Need Racing/Bell Motorsports team to have to miss our first race," Barber said. "Despite the hard-working Bell Motorsports team's capacity to bounce back from just about any obstacle, and the significant and loyal support of Kodak and other sponsors, we have exhausted our sponsorship funds for this year. We race within a budget, and crash damage in particular has exceeded our budget estimates/limits for the year. We need to regroup, reflect on the best approach to being competitive in this growing series, and work hard on finding adequate sponsorship for the 2006 season. "

Barber went on to say, "We are working with potential additional sponsors on a program that would result in our competing in the last two events, but as yet have nothing to announce."

The team won the Rolex 24 last year and it won the Rolex series' Daytona Prototype (DP) team championship in 2003. One of its drivers, Terry Borcheller, also earned the DP drivers' championship that season.

The team won the pole at the most recent Rolex series race, which was held at Phoenix International Raceway Sept. 10.
