Team RSC Mucke Motorsport optimistic after last tests in Barcelona - Renger van der Zande at top three - Peter Mucke: "We are well prepared"
Berlin/Barcelona (rol/ot) For the Team RSC Mucke Motorsport from Berlin the last two official testing days of the new GP3 series on Tuesday and Wednesday (13th /14th of April) in Barcelona went promising. To the end of this session Renger van der Zande went into the top three - with just two tenths of a second missing to the fastest time. The first day the Netherland was 4th. Also his team-mates Nigel Melker (Netherlands) and German Tobias Hegewald from Waldbreitbach have been mostly in the top ten positions at tests on the beginning of this month at Le Castellet. In one session Melker gained the fastest lap-time.
"Over the last three tests at Paul Ricard and in Barcelona we have been working to a meticulous testing program, and have been able to define a good basic setup which works well for our drivers", tells Peter Mucke. "It is very positive to have a brand new car with such few problems. The GP3 organizers and suppliers have done a brilliant job in the season lead up to give teams such a good car, and solve any teething problems in a short time", supplemented the principal of the biggest private racing team of Germany." All of the GP3 teams are well prepared for the first event. And the minimal time distances at the tests reflects a very close competition at season opening. There's still a some work to do until Barcelona, but we will be ready and well prepared".
The Team RSC Mucke Motorsport - RSC stands for Ralf Schumacher (former Formula-1-Pilot with six wins in 180 races) as prominent combatant and partner of the racing team of Peter Mucke - is aiming optimistically on 8th and 9th of May. Those days the premier-races of the GP3 series are on program with this year's first Formula-1-Grand-Prix in Europe in Barcelona. The racing team from Berlin is the only German between the ten GP3-teams.
