Yesterday afternoon Daly recorded the fastest time of the day with a 1:34.578 in the second generation GP3 car.
Noblesville, IN --American Conor Daly had one of his strongest GP3 tests over the last two days in Barcelona, Spain under changing weather conditions - dry and then wet on both days.
"The car was great to drive in absolute monsoon conditions. I couldn't see anything, couldn't feel my hands or feet. There were lakes everywhere on the track. It was exciting indeed," said Daly.
Yesterday afternoon Daly recorded the fastest time of the day with a 1:34.578 in the second generation GP3 car that now boasts 400 HP.
"We had a lot to figure out with the new GP3/13 car at the first test in Estoril three weeks ago and I believe now we have found a great set-up and a nice balance to achieve that one hot lap," said Daly.
"I am extremely happy and it was a nice surprise to be P1. I feel really positive about the second generation car, it's much more fun to drive and certainly makes you question yourself before you add more throttle. I love having more speed!"
This was the second official pre-season test for GP3 series cars with the final official test taking place in England on April 3rd-4th.
