Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the press conference for today's qualifying session here at Silverstone.
GP3 Series: Esteban another pole position, but this time in Silverstone. You must be delighted?
Esteban Gutierrez: Yes, I am grateful to the team. We have been doing a great job together and getting good results. We've been doing the best with what we have. Until now it's been very good, but we need to keep working. You could see yesterday that it was very competitive with really close times. Today we had a bit of a gap, and managed to put together a really good lap. I think it looks good for the race; we just have to keep cool and try to do our best.
GP3 Series: You had a slow start to the session. You weren't on the pace at the start but the times came in the latter half. What it just a factor of tyres, or was it something else?
Esteban Gutierrez: No it was really more because I had traffic, and I was trying different lines as the practice session is only 30 minutes long. I then put the lap together with some tow, and it was a really nice lap. I really enjoyed it.
GP3 Series: You're six tenths ahead of your next competitor. What happened did you just find a short cut?
Esteban Gutierrez: No i just managed to make up time in every corner, and when you add all of them together it makes a big difference. I was just doing my best and in the end it was six tenths. It was a bit too much maybe!
GP3 Series: Yes it's a bit much for everyone else maybe. Obviously you are in the best place to start for the race today, what are your thoughts?
Esteban Gutierrez: We have to do a good start, and try and be consistent which is very important. This track is very technical which makes it an extra challenge so I think we have to focus on this.
GP3 Series: Rio congratulations, great job today. Second place is your best qualifying so far. Are you happy with your result?
Rio Haryanto: Yes, the car was feeling much better than yesterday and I could push the way I want. I think this is the best qualifying so far in the season and I am happy with my performance.
GP3 Series: You set all your best times in the second half of the session, was just down to the tyres?
Rio Haryanto: At the beginning I was using old tyres, and then when you put on a new set it is much easier and you have a lot more grip.
GP3 Series: Have you driven here before, and if you have what did you make of the new circuit?
Rio Haryanto: Yes, I raced here at the beginning of the year so this should give me a slight advantage during the race because I know the track.
GP3 Series: Nico congratulations, quite easily your best qualifying performance of the season. Also, you were very consistent throughout the whole session, talk us through it.
Nico Muller: I was already quite happy yesterday with the car. I felt pretty good on the track. The new part is new for me, I raced here last year with Formula Renault, but I got on with it quote well. Today we managed to improve some more things on the car. I pushed pretty hard I also made some small mistakes but in the end the result is good. I am very happy to be in front for the first race, and for sure it is the best qualifying I've had this season and I hope to continue like this.
GP3 Series: You were consistently in the top for the whole session. What do you put the difference down to compared to previous rounds?
Nico Muller: In Valencia I struggled quite a bit with traffic, but here it's not a big problem. I've also got used to the car and tyres, and finding time on the tyres.
GP3 Series: The race this afternoon you're starting near the front. What are your expectations for the race?
Nico Muller: For sure I've done pretty good races so far and I will try to do as well today and we will see. For sure the goal is to finish on the podium and I will fight hard for that.
