Van der Zande to compete in GP3
It is a new season and a brand new series for Renger van der Zande. The Dutch driver will compete in the GP3 Series for German outfit RSC Mucke Motorsport.
Renger, who won races in both British and F3 Euroseries last season can't wait to get started in the new championship which will support seven European Formula One races and feature a stand-alone round in Portugal.
Renger will also benefit from the knowledge and experience of former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, who takes up the role of Team Principal in RSC Mucke.
"I am very happy with the choice which I have made for the season. I had several options in different categories but this Series and package really stood out for me. The experience of both Ralf Schumacher and Peter Mucke will be invaluable to my career and success in the championship. Also all three of us have a connection through Mercedes so it seemed to all fit really well together," said Renger.
"I really must thank my loyal sponsor SENSATION and also the support of GPUPDATE.net ; thanks to them I was able to make the deal work. Also to my German sponsors SANDTLER and SEBRING."
The inaugural test takes place this week at Paul Ricard in the south of France and Renger is desperate to get started and back behind the wheel.
"I cannot wait to drive the first few laps and get back into action! I am very curious about our performance but I already I have confidence it will be a good one. We are all working very hard to ensure it."
