Esteban Triumphs in Turkey after Winning Race Number Three of the Season
Istambul, Turkey -- Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez, at the wheel of talented team ART Grand Prix's car #2, did an excellent start of the race today to take first place and eventually win the first race of the weekend. Gutierrez crossed the line 10.5 seconds ahead of runner up driver James Jakes, at Manor Racing.
Esteban registered seven fastest laps out of 15, earning an additional point for being the fastest man on the track today. With this result, Gutierrez has achieved three consecutive podiums, becoming the only driver of the European series who has been on the podium in all three events of the season so far.
Esteban claims to be very satisfied from today's results, but remains focused on the second race of the weekend, that will take place tomorrow, and which he will start from the fourth row on the grid, in eighth place. His goal is to add up valuable points for the series championship.
The young talented Mexican is now at the top of the chart with 21 points, ahead of his teammate, American driver Alexander Rossi, with 13 points. With the result from both drivers, team ART Grand Prix is now first on the teams championship with 35 points, ahead of Jenzer Motorsports, with 16 points.
