A very disappointing Race 2 today at Silverstone circuit for both Coloni Motorsport drivers. Gimmi Bruni started from the first row on the grid and all the team expected to take the second championship win. Unfortunately, the 24-years old driver jumped the start and the Steward of the Meeting decided to give him a drive through penalty. Bruni was third on the first lap and was scoring very good times early in the race, trying to take 2nd place from Piccione. But on the 8th lap he came through the pit lane and came out in 13th position, just when the safety car entered due to an incident involving Nelsinho Piquet who spun out and blocked in the middle of the Stowe corner. Gimmi lapped good times after safety car exited, but when Bruni arrived behind Monfardini, he was not able to overtake the Italian driver. Mathias Lauda finished 15th. In the first part of the race the 24-years old Austrian driver battled in the last positions. When the safety car exited, with cold tyres he scored good lap times, as quick as his team mate Bruni. Unfortunately, the gap between the Niki Lauda's son and the other competitors was too big.

Gimmi Bruni: "At the first red light, when I released the clutch paddles for finding the right starting point, I jumped a little bit, maximum 10 cm. Then, I had a lot of wheel spin and I lost one place at Copse corner. During the first six laps the car was performing well and I was able to score good times. Unfortunately, I suffered a drive through penalty and then my race was very difficult. In the last part of the race I was quicker then Monfardini who was ahead me, but when I arrived closer to him, I lost down force and it was impossible to overtake the Italian driver."

Mathias Lauda: "We tried a new race set-up for Race 2, in order to sort out grip problems. Unfortunately, I suffered over steer in the fast corner and especially at Copse and Bridge, while tyres performance seemed to be good and constant. Certainly, for next races I really expect to improve my driving performances and my car too. We are going to work hard together with Coloni Motorsport team."

Next race will be held at Hockenheim circuit on the 24th July.
