An incident halts Canamasas progress

Sergio Canamasas was been involved in an accident with Jolyon Palmer and Rene Binder

Silverstone - After a promising beginning to the race, Sergio Canamasas was been involved in an accident with Palmer and Binder, damaging his car and having to pit for repairs, thus losing all his chances in the second Silverstone GP2 race.

A shame as by lap five the Catalonian from Caterham Racing had already recovered eight positions from his grid spot to get up to fifteenth, in a race that was reminiscent of his recovery drive at Barcelona.

Nevertheless, the positive feeling he took from the car allows hope that next week, at the German Grand Prix, the first points of the year for Sergio could arrive.

Sergio Canamasas: “I overtook some cars on the opening lap which felt good and then two more after the safety car but then there was an incident with Palmer and Binder and I had to make a pitstop because of the damage. At times the car felt quick so I hope at Nurgurgring I can finally score some points.”
