There was nobody in the Red Bull GRC field last weekend that was hungrier for a win than Brian Deegan; after all, it had been five years since he last took the checkered flag in Los Angeles. But he wouldn’t be denied last Sunday, as he raced championship leaders Scott Speed and Tanner Foust like it was any other day. His move into the Joker allowed him to leapfrog the entire podium and will go down as one of the smartest shortcuts in series history.
