Westward Team to make European Debut at British Round of 2001 European Le Mans Series

New York, NY & Norfolk, England: Westward Racing Group LLC has entered one of their Panoz LMP-1 Roadster S prototypes in the Easter weekend round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Donington Park. The event will be televised in the United States on a same-day basis at 4 p.m. (EST) by NBC Sports on April 14.

"The Donington Park event is where Westward will actually come together as a complete team. After testing in Atlanta, and racing with the assistance of the works Panoz team in Texas, our true debut will be in the UK," stated Peter Kuhn, Westward's Managing Director.

Westward will be conducting pre-race testing for Avon Tyres prior to the Donington event. "We're very excited to be working with Avon. They've had enormous success in other formulas so we are aiming to give them winning results in the LMP900 class as well," said Motorsports Director, Dave Sims from Westward's factory in Norfolk, England.

Westward driver, Jay Cochran, added, "With the popularity of motor sports in the UK being at an all time high, we look forward to giving those ELMS dedicated sports car fans a great show".
