Czech Circuit Championship
Polo triumphs at racing debut

The first running of the Volkswagen Polo entered in the Czech Circuit Championship by Charouz Racing System ended with a commanding victory. At the third round of the international series at Most, Antonin Blazek clearly dominated the class up to 1,400 cubic centimetres. When he crossed the finish line, the young native of Prague, who celebrated his 18th birthday on the day of the race, had almost a half-minute lead over his immediate rival. The Racing Polo powered by a 195-hp 1.4-litre engine delivered a convincing, flawless debut showing.

Polo Cup Denmark
Dennis Elgaard wins - Osterby and Faraas in front with equal points score

In temperatures at mid-summer levels, Dennis Elgaard won the second round of the Danish Volkswagen Polo Cup at the Jyllandsringen. In the 12-lap race, the 24-year-old saw the chequered flag with a 1.670-second advantage over his direct rival Thomas Faraas. Third place went to Christoffer Osterby, who - with an equal score of 32 points - is now sharing the lead of the standings with Thomas Faraas. Race winner Elgaard is ranking in third place overall with 30 points on his tally. The young German Peter Gobel came eleventh, clinching two points in the one-make cup contested with 180-hp Volkswagen Polo cars.

Volkswagen Racing Cup England
Fulbrook wins both races at Snetterton

Joe Fulbrook at the wheel of a Volkswagen Bora 1.8T won both races of the Volkswagen Racing Cup at Snetterton. In the first race of the British clubsport series, Fulbrook benefited from a duel between the front runners. Adrian Dziurzynski (Golf GTI) pushed Paul Taylor (Golf R32), who had been leading up to that point, off the track. Fulbrook took advantage of the tussle between the front runners and won ahead of Dziurzynski, Jamie Perry (Golf GTI) and Taylor. In the second race, GTI driver Perry looked like the sure winner for a long time until being forced to retire due to a defective drive shaft. Again, Fulbrook benefited from the situation, this time beating Steve Chaplin (New Beetle) and James Walker (Golf TDI) to the chequered flag.

Polo Cup South Africa
Morgan and Pasqualli successful

The quickest driver on the fourth weekend of the South African Polo Cup was Miguel Pasqualli. Nevertheless, he managed clinching only one victory at East London. In the first race he was running in front for a long time, but then had to retire two laps before the finish. Hence Bryan Morgan won ahead of Divian Wentzel and Brennon Green. Only the second round saw Pasqualli victorious. On the podium again: Bryan Morgan and Brennon Green in places two and three.

Formula Volkswagen South Africa
Cristiano Morgado unbeatable

The fifth weekend of the new Formula Volkswagen South Africa was controlled by Cristiano Morgado, who won both of the two 10-lap races at East London. First, he prevailed over Wesleigh Orr and Simon Moss, in the second race he beat Gavin Cronje and Wesleigh Orr to the finish line. In the identical cars of the feeder series that was launched in 2008, a 2-litre Volkswagen engine with a power output of 220 hp is used.[
