Poolrite to be V8 BRutes' title sponsor; series official suppliers appointed.

Australia's only racing championship for utes, the V8 BRutes Series, will mark the start of its third season next month with the return of Poolrite Equipment Pty Ltd as title sponsor.

Poolrite, which also sponsored the V8 BRutes' inaugural season in 2001, is Australia's leading manufacturer and distributor of swimming pool and spa equipment.

The company will use the Poolrite V8 BRutes Series to highlight a major upgrade in its operations, including relocation of its headquarters and factory from Sydney to Brisbane and a doubling in manufacturing capacity.

Four other companies will be exclusive official suppliers.

Carryboy, which supplies the moulded hard-decks and integrated rear wings for all Ford and Holden V8 BRutes, will provide a $1000 "Hard Charger" award at every round.

Dunlop is the new supplier of control tyres, Ferodo will supply all brake pads for the 32-car field and Thomas Cook will make and sell a range of V8 BRutes merchandise.

As announced earlier this week, the 2003 Poolrite V8 BRutes Series will be televised throughout Australia on the Seven Network and affiliate stations, with a schedule of eight one-hour programs providing the most comprehensive coverage yet.

The Poolrite V8 BRutes Series will feature up to 16 Holden SS utes and 16 Ford Falcon XR8 Pursuits competing at tracks in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland as part of the PROCAR Champ Series meetings.

Round one is at the Clipsal 500 meeting in Adelaide on 20-23 March.

John Cowley, Deputy Executive Chairman of V8 BRutes organiser PROCAR Australia, welcomed the signing of Poolrite and the official suppliers.

"This is a substantial financial investment by Poolrite and reflects the growing commercial value of the televised V8 BRutes Series, as well as the company's own stature as the leading maker and supplier of swimming pool pumps, salt water chlorinators, filters and other equipment," Mr Cowley said.

Poolrite has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Townsville and Auckland.

It has substantial export markets in New Zealand, France, Spain, Asia, the Middle East and South Africa.

Dunlop's official supplier status will involve the supply and trackside service of the Dunlop SP Supersport Race road-legal competition tyre for the next two seasons. Both Fords and Holdens will run the same 245/40ZR17 tyre size.

After supplying the V8 BRutes' rear hard decks in 2002, Victorian-based Carryboy Canopies Australia Pty Ltd will boost its committment with the introduction of the Carryboy Hard Charger Award.

Carryboy will award $1000 at each of the series' eight rounds to the driver who gains the most positions in the final race of the day. It also will present a trophy for the overall Hard Charger at the end of the season.

Competition Friction Pty Ltd and Motospecs, of Canberra, will supply Ferodo Racing brake pads exclusively throughout the season. At each round, the winner of the pole position ballot will be given a set of Ferodo Racing front brake pads.

Thomas Cook wll create a new range of Poolrite V8 BRutes Series merchandise for 2003. It also will be the official uniform supplier to PROCAR Australia.
