Modern Performance Racing Products, LLC, a leader in the domestic four-cylinder after market, will be sponsoring Jeff Lepper in his modernperformance.com Dodge Neon. The Neon will race in the United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) beginning at the first round of the 2002 USTCC race at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, California on March 16 and17, 2002. This exciting form of motorsports gives Modern Performance the chance to showcase their racing products in the premier sedan road racing series in the United States.
Started in 1997, Modern Performance was formed from a base of car enthusiasts who wanted their cars to run faster, look better, and be more unique. Modern Performance has continued to grow year after year due to their experience in the field, customer service, fast delivery of products, and their loyal customers. In November of 2001, Modern Performance made a dramatic change in the cars they service to become the first and only online company that specializes in many American four-cylinder cars. They had already become the largest warehouse distributor for the Dodge Neon, and are making waves in the Ford Focus arena. They are proud to be different from all the import shops out there, and service the American four-cylinder customer base. Modern Performance offers after market performance parts for vehicles from Chrysler, Chevrolet, Ford, and Pontiac.
The USTCC is a relatively new player in the professional road racing community and is sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association. USTCC copies after the great formula of the touring cars of Europe. Compact sedans with highly modified suspensions, big wings and spoilers, and ultra low profile tires are all signatures of a touring car. The USTCC features cars such as the Dodge Neon, Honda Civic, Acura Integra, BMW 3 series, Subaru WRX, and Nissan Sentra SE-R. Races are run throughout the United States as far east as West Virginia's Summit Point and as far west as California's Sears Point Raceway. For more information on the USTCC, visit www.ustcc.com.
