EARNHARDT, ANDRETTI, AND FORCE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON WHEN IT COMES TO THE PENNZOIL MOTORSPORTS AUTO RACING TRADE SHOW
FORT WASHINGTON, PA October 4, 1999 . . . What do champion auto racers Dale Earnhardt, Mario Andretti, John Force and Richard Petty have in common? They have all appeared at the Pennzoil Motorsports Auto Racing Trade Show. And when the 2000 edition of the three day show, January 14-16, arrives, attendees can expect to see many of the top names in the sport on hand to meet fans and sign autographs. At Pennzoil Motorsports 1999 well over 40,000 people visited the show. And when Pennzoil Motorsports 2000 is presented at the Fort Washington Expo Center it is expected, barring bad weather or a problem with Y2K, attendance will approach 50,000. "We are presently negotiating with a number of well known racers and motorsports personalities to be part of the show. It is about this time of the year that our real work begins on the show as we make arrangements for personal appearances at Pennzoil Motorsports 2000," said event organizer Len Sammons. The personal appearances and autograph sessions always seem to be one of the highlights of the show. Also a highlight of the show is the Motor Max Extreme Motorsports Garage which features hands on demonstrations by experts in the industry. This is always popular with hardware racers who want to learn as much as they can to improve their own chances of being better racers. For fans there are more than 600 exhibit booths filled with just about everything imaginable in motorsports. Fans can find great buys on collectibles, sportswear and novelty items. And dozens of speedways will have displays and will have the latest information on their plans for the new season available. Racers can visit engine and parts manufacturers, safety equipment suppliers, tire deals, chassis builders and more. All that is new can be found at the three day show. And there are a variety of seminars, covering so many different subjects, offered free (as part of the admission ticket) every 90 minutes during the show. One of the highlights of the show is the U.S.Tobacco/Aplus Mini Marts Ms. Motorsports Pageant. Preliminaries are in the afternoon and the finals on Saturday night. More than 30 ladies participate in the competition each year. For the youngsters there is a Kids Big Wheel Contest, with a load of prizes including some cash, and the Li'l Miss Motorsports Contest.
