Welcome to the top 20 photos of the 2014 racing season from around the world chosen by our own photo editors.

We want you, the reader, to take a few moments to vote a the bottom of this article to tell us which of these 20 top shots deserves to be photo of the year. In 48 hours we will publish the Viewer's Choice photo, shortly followed by the Editor's Choice.

With nearly 120,000 images from the year posted in hundreds of galleries, we did our best to narrow it down to the best of the best to make choosing a bit easier. Enjoy!
