10. Completely clean backgrounds are hard to come by in any situation, but Aragon gives photographers a chance to truly isolate the cars on track. A great frame from Formula Renault 3.5.
9. Showing motion is important in racing, but the ability to show motion of both the car and the approximately 12 foot mud rooster tail is impressive.
8. What would a top 10 photos of the week be without highlighting some racing in the rain? Here, at the Nürburgring, or the "Green Hell" VLN drivers had to fight through tough conditions, making for great photo opportunities of cars sliding everywhere!
7. I don't think that fellow paid for his tickets to this race. Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama is incredibly picturesque. The property is littered with statues of everything from giant spiders to a family of bears. Cool frame of a cool track.
6. A water splash is typically just a fraction of a second of a long stage that may have many, but knowing the right angle and the right moment to grab that perfect water splash photo is priceless.
5. IndyCar doesn't always get the start right, but when they do, it is simply beautiful. Helio Castroneves leads the pack off of the final turn at Barber for the start of this past weekend's Grand Prix.
4. Did anyone see that Russell Crowe movie called "Gladiator"? If for some reason, first time rally winner Kris Meeke came screaming through the movie, we feel it would look something like this.
3. Velopark played host to the Brazilian Stock Cars this past weekend. Panning done exceptionally well. You almost have to look twice!
2. Finding that other angle that no one else sees is a challenge for any photographer. But being able to take the winning car, and all three podium finishers during their champagne celebration and cram it all into a 3x2 frame? Impressive. Josef Newgarden celebrates his first ever IndyCar win at Barber.
1. Sometimes in racing, fuel can ignite. During the Xfinity race at Richmond, our photographer only had a moment to react when Brendan Gaughan's car went up in flames, engulfing two crew members. Great frame shot of a scary situation.
