Superleague Formula enjoys successful week at AUTOSPORT International

Superleague Formula by Sonangol's impressive stand proved one of the highlights at last weekend's AUTOSPORT International Show in Birmingham, UK, where the build-up to 2011 traditionally kicks off.

The motorsport industry’s annual pre-season gathering offered fans the chance to learn more about the football-themed series which will enter its fourth year in 2011. And just like its racing, Superleague Formula provided a spectacular backdrop at which to promote the upcoming campaign.

Last year’s runner-up and home favourite Craig Dolby was on hand to sign autographs throughout Saturday next to the Tottenham Hotspur car that took him to within just two points of the championship, as well as €860,000 in prize money. Spurs’ hi-tech pit wall perch was also on display, along with the bespoke V12, 750bhp engine fitted to all of the championship’s single seaters.

Dutch championship contender Yelmer Buurman dropped by on Thursday to help promote his home round at Assen on June 4/5, while the Superleague Formula race centre also welcomed a number of high-profile drivers through its doors across the four days as plans for 2011 begin to gather pace.
