Shannonville, Ont., June 25, 2000 - Round 3 of the Canadian Formula Ford Championship has been cancelled due to the heavy downpour that flooded the Shannonville Motorsport Park. Corners 1 and 14 were transformed into lakes. Shannonville’s workers spent most of the day trying to pump the water from the track, but it was not enough to make the track 100% safe.

"Conditions were simply too dangerous for racing," said Eric Berman of BMG, the series organisers. "There was still water on the track and the lakes around the circuit were very dangerous. If a car would roll in there, it wasn’t coming out. It’s safety first… the track officials had no choice but to cancel the entire day of racing."

Series officials will make an announcement soon in regards to a replacement event for the Shannonville race.

The next race will be held in three weeks at the Toronto Molson Indy, Sunday, July 16.
