The name of the German guitar-player Victor Smolski's is well-known among fans of rock music. But he has got another passion - it is racing. In 2006 season Victor is going to join Touringcars races with Sport-Garage team.
Being the son of the prominent Soviet composer, Victor Smolski started studying the cello and piano when he was 6 years old, and at 14 played together with rock band "Pesnyary". At that time he addicted to jazz music and rock music. Now he sings solo and plays with "Rage" group. Victor Smolski has already released 14 CD. Victor composed and produced a new album in 2005 together with "?ipelov" group (Kipelov is a former vocalist of the very famous Russian rock group "Aria"). Victor's motorsport biography started in 1995 when he took part at Rallye event, and since 2000 he has been driving at some circuit races after acquiring his first racing driver license. And that's well done! Good results were achieved by him at German endurance Championship and legendary 24h race at the Nurburgring. In 2003 he participated at the Moscow Grand Prix with "Sport-Garage" drivers Alexandr Lvov, Ilya Burenko and Dmitry Pevtsov.
Anyway Victor signed his first professional contract in 2006. The rock-star will participate at seven stages of Russian Touring Light Championship (RTCC) under the wheel of Sport-Garage VW Polo GTi. His debut is planned to take place on the 14th of May in St. Petersburg racing track.
