TWO CAR TEAM READY FOR RIVERVIEW F500 ATTACK

Formula 500 speedway ace Darren Disbury enters Saturday night¹s racing action at Riverview Speedway with a team-mate for the first time.

The Disbury Family Racing team will debut under the Dave Jack Paving & Landscaping/Century Batteries banner with Darren¹s brother-in-law Paul Ryan making his racing return in the team¹s second car.

The duo were previously rivals for seven seasons until Paul "retired" five years ago.

"Running two cars will enable us a try a number of combinations and set- up to make sure we run at the front," Darren said.

"Both cars should be very fast and I am sure Paul will not take long to get back into the groove."

The former State Champion (Disbury), debuted the #19 car two weeks ago that the former SA#1 award winner (Ryan) will race this weekend. Disbury will debut the new #17 machine at the newly extended Riverview circuit.

"I am really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel," Ryan said.

"With Darren already having a run in the car, I know the machine is very fast Š and I know I used to be fast Š it is simply going to be a matter of settling back into the action.

"The cars and the track are a lot faster now but I am confident I will be able to run with the pack. I am not expecting miracles first night out - the aim will be to get some race miles under my belt, learn the new track and find a suspension set-up to my liking."

Disbury is eagerly awaiting the chance to try his new #17 Formula 500. "The new car is considerably different from the #19 car and I am really looking forward to comparing the two," Disbury said.

"We have worked hard to ensure the cars are well prepared and presented in a first class manner. Both Paul and I are confident that preparation will pay off - many races are won and lost in the workshop before you actually get to the track."

The team¹s stunning new paint scheme and uniforms were unveiled last Friday at a presentation at Dave Jack Paving & Landscaping. "Our aim is to ensure we not only have the fastest Formula 500 team around, but also the best presented," Disbury said.
