Clio V6 ace Rick Pearson gave his second lecture of the year at Cranfield University last week accompanied by team boss, Mark Fish.
“ As a driver associate at Cranfield, I appreciate the importance of providing the students with practical experience and advice in the engineering and management fields,” Pearson explained. “ The Motorsport Engineering and Management course is an excellent initiative which I think will be of enormous benefit to the industry in the years to come.
“ It is always a pleasure to speak in front of such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience and I look forward to returning in April to witness the design presentations.“
An Oxford engineering graduate himself, Pearson hosted a one hour seminar about the crucial relationship between a driver and his engineer followed by a question and answer session for year one students on the Motorsport Engineering and Management MSc course.
“ With his experience of race driving combined with his engineering background and business acumen, Rick Pearson provided Cranfield's students with an invaluable insight into the relationship between race engineer and race driver,” commented Clive Temple, Cranfield’s Marketing Manager. “ Rick's comments were reinforced by Mark Fish who made a significant contribution to the event by sharing his experience of managing a successful team at national level with our students and Motorsport Club members.”
Following on from their foray into the pan-European Renaultsport Clio Trophy earlier this year, Rick Pearson and Mark Fish Motorsport are currently working on exciting plans for next season.
