In the circuit of Paraná the T.C.2000 showed the best race of all the season, with rain, emotion and surprises. In fact there were seven differents drivers in the first position and the winner took the leadership two curves before the end. The owner of this fantastic race is Omar Martínez (Toyota Corolla / TTA) who started the race 21º.
The competition started with Gabriel Ponce de León (Ford Focus / Berta Motorsport) leading after passed in the first curve the poleman Nelson García (Ford Escort / Berta Motorsport). But the 2001 champion started to loose positions quickly.
Different to was happened with the Ford Focus number 1, Guillermo Ortelli (Honda Civic / HRA) took the first place in lap two after started sixth.
One of the key of the race was the entered of the Pace Car because lots of drivers choosed this moment to change their wet tyres for slicks in a track half wet and half dry but without rain.
In the restart of the race Marcela Bugliotti (Honda Civic / Pro Racing) was leading but a mistake in one of the curves made him lost until fourth place. This was the moment for Juan Manuel Silva (Honda Civic / HRA) in the top, but he couldn`t resist the attack of the surprising Juan Manuel López (Alfa Romeo / Alfa Scuadra) who led during big part of the competition until the engine exploited in lap 25. After this the young driver Mariano Bainotti (Mitsubishi Lancer / GF Motorsport) took the first position and he never left it until the last two curves when Omar Martínez, who was with slicks tyres passed him and won in T.C.2000 after more that a year. The last victory for Martínez was also in Paraná with an Honda Civic. However the second position is a great result for Bainotti who is in his first year in the category after won the championship of the Argentinian Formula Super Renault. The podium was completed by Walter Hernández (Ford Focus / Berta Motorsport).
The leader of the championship Norberto Fontana (Toyota Corolla / TTA) quit the race with mechanics problems in his Corolla number nine. It`s a pity for the ex-F1, this is the second abandon in the last two races and he lost the leadership of the tournament. Now the leader is Martínez with 90 points followed by the 1999 champion Juan Manuel Silva who finished fourth with 78 and by Norberto Fontana with 75.
