RECORD WEEKEND FOR TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY TICKETS

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Nov. 15, 1999) - Ticket sales at record levels marked the beginning of individual ticket sales Saturday and Sunday for Texas Motor Speedway's 2000 "New Millennium of Speed" season.

Many of the 1,500 fans present started lining up Friday evening in anticipation of purchasing the best tickets for the century's first racing season. First in line for the second year in a row was Robert Fowler of Bedford, Texas, his wife Terry and family dog. The Fowlers arrived Friday afternoon in their motorhome.

"We just missed being first in line for the 1998 season," said Terry. "We got exactly the seats we wanted in section 124. We are huge Dale Earnhardt fans and wouldn't miss the Winston Cup race here for anything."

The most requested tickets were for the season's opening weekend featuring the DIRECTV 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race April 2 and the Texas 300 NASCAR Busch Series event on April 1. Tickets were also sold for the speedway's two Pep Boys Indy Racing League races, a pair of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events and four evenings of Pennzoil World of Outlaws sprint car racing on the new Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

"The response of the fans to the 'New Millennium of Speed' season is remarkable," said Eddie Gossage, speedway executive vice-president and general manager. "Many of our fans have already purchased season tickets for 2000, so the long lines waiting for the remaining tickets to go on sale Saturday indicates the high interest for major motorsports events in the state of Texas."

Tickets are on sale seven days a week at the speedway ticket office, by calling the ticket hotline at (817) 215-8500, at all Ticketmaster locations or on-line at www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
