European Clio V6 runner, Rick Pearson has narrowly missed out on a grid spot for the Monaco Grand Prix support race after being invited to the principality as second reserve.

The Mark Fish Motorsport runner was given the reserve slot following a strong performance in the pre-qualifying event, held during round one of the championship two months ago. "I'm bitterly disappointed that I won't get to race at Monaco this year," Pearson said, "but the track is only licensed for thirty cars, and thirty-two out of the thirty-four invited arrived. As number thirty-one we just missed out. We'll be back next year though, hopefully with a title sponsor for a proper assault."

Pearson will next race in round three of the Renaultsport Clio Trophy, to be held at Spa-Francorchamps, June 9-10.
