Race 1: Weather: Rain at first, then drying then wet again

It had drizzled during qualifying for race 1 of the Grand Prix de Pau, but that was nothing compared to the amount of water falling out of the sky as the field lined up in the pit lane to begin preparations for the race. As all the other sessions had been dry, and there were more than a few Pau rookies in the field, this looked likely to get messy before we were done. Unsurprisingly, most people took advantage of the pit lane being open to circulate cautiously and try and work out a strategy for what had was about to become a wet race. However, some people weren't cautious enough!

During the installation laps, Richard Lietz (HBR Motorsport) managed to make a fool of himself and fell off at Gare on one of his installation laps. He didn't hit anything and the marshals were able to get him going again, which was just as well. Robert Doornbos (Team Ghinzani) followed suit and revolved through 360
